BH3 1500th Run Celebrations

Greetings...........

........ to you lucky people who have registered for the fabulous BH3 1500th run Celebrations on August Bank Holiday Week-end. We are planning a fun filled week-end and I very much look forward to sharing this with you.

The following details should answer most of your questions about the week-end. The rest you will just have to come and find out:-

Getting There

Location:

Padworth College is located at grid Ref.613662 on OS Explorer Map 159.

For those using sat.nav. the Post Code is RG7 4NR

A map locating the venue can be found on the How to Get There tab.

Detailed directions from any start point, with a map, can also be found at www.yell.com by entering "Padworth College" in the search facility.

From M4 motorway:

The College is less than 5 miles (10 minutes) from junction 12 of the M4 motorway.Leave the M4 motorway at junction 12 and take the exit marked THEALE where you will enter a dual carriageway. Go straight on at the first roundabout and take the second exit left at the second roundabout. This is the A4 and is signposted to NEWBURY. After about 3 miles you will come to another short section of dual carriageway. At the end of this you will see a TOTAL garage and a hotel called THE COURTYARD. Turn immediately left at the hotel entrance up a small road called Padworth Lane. Go over three bridges and up the hill to a crossroads. Turn right at the crossroads and the college entrance is first on the right.

From the M3 motorway:

Leave the M3 motorway at Junction 6 and take the A339 north (following the signs for the North Hampshire Hospital). Turn left onto the A340 and continue past the hospital until you reach Tadley. Go past the shops and then take the right hand lane. Where the road veers sharply left leave the A340 and bear right past the ELF garage and FALCON pub in the direction of Burghfield. Continue on this road for about 4 miles. On a sharp right hand bend there is a junction with a small country road called Rectory Road. Turn left into Rectory road and follow it to a crossroads. At the crossroads turn left and the college entrance is first on the right.

Parking

There is plenty of on site parking but we will be asking you to park in designated areas.  Campers will not be able to take their car on to the camping area so

About the College

This is a lovely old building set in delightful grounds amidst beautiful countryside. We are very fortunate to have the opportunity to use it.
The School has asked that we pass on the following:

- No dogs in the buildings and dog owners are asked to clear up after their dog - no dogs' mess anywhere in the grounds please
- No smoking in any room or anywhere inside the school buildings
- No glass to be brought on site - we will be supplying plastic drinking glasses and care must be taken with wine bottes
- We are requested not to enter the lake, and the swimming pool is not available for our use.
- Be aware of security on site and report any problems to a BH3 committee member.

Helpers

We are running this event entirely with volunteer labour, including doing all the catering ourselves.
Nobody is being paid, so please remember to do your bit, clear up after yourself, put your rubbish in the bins, and go that extra mile.
We have a team of volunteers undertaking specific tasks but we will be looking for help on the day with all  the general stuff , food preparation and setting up,
washing up, clearing rubbish, bar work etc.  So anything you can do to help the event go with a swing will be much appreciated.

Well done if you have read down this far!  Hopefully the above gives you all you need to know prior to the event but call me if you have additional queries.

See you there....
