The Hash

Todays theme was Canada day, cookies ,mounties ,lumber jacks ,and a few cowgirls in the mix. Well if you saw “Slapper” in his outfit he resembled something from a “Benny hill “ character, Check shirt tucked into his huge shorts pulled up so tight he was blue in the face.

Then there was “Motox” he had the biggest” chopper” of the night all knocked up by hand!!! Iceman looking rather dapper in his work jacket ,it was strange not to see him in the fifty year old maroon jacket that we have become accustomed to!!!! After the the usual piffle of flour drawings on the car park floor it was “on out”.!!

“Whinge” was the only one to go in the right direction up into “Lilly hill “ park while every one else followed like sheep the wrong way. It didnt take long for the hungry pack to catch the ailing “Whinge” who by now was blowing and spluttering, (old age you know)

There was numerous little paths which twisted and wound round this little haven, when running at high speed as I often do, it took me back to my youth when I used to frequent the funfairs which had a particular ride called the “Switch Back,” ( does any one remember!.)

This was lovely ” Hashing” Sunshine ,lots to tease the mind , scented smells from various shrubs and trees. After lots of weaving to and throwing we crossed the main road into another wooded section with huge wide gravel tracks dispersing in every direction,we came to a check which gave us great concern, The worn out “ c5” was charging around like a demented old woman at a hand bag sale! Not here he retorted!!

“Itsyor” who reckons he new the way ,found the crafty little path which shot into thick forest, barely seeing where to put your feet it was here that poor “ Blind Pugh” caught himself on the tiniest of stumps catapulting him into the air then crashing to the ground in a flume of dust and expletives, ( certainly lives up to his name) After many micro seconds of concern we continued!! The revamped “Shandy man “, (just done 88 miles apparently) took the reins , many more little tricky bits befell us,( the hares are doing well). Tricky it was for certain hardened hashers who simply could not navigate them selves round the football pitch near the end. “Zeb “ now wearing flows slippers to run in, “ Shitfor” specialy trained by “billy”, and dear flow who just follows any way, all got it wrong!!!!!

It took “Twobob “ and his dog ” Lucy “ with her sensitive nose,which was able to pick up the unmistakable scent of” BGB”, to lead us back to underpass beneath the pub!!

Great run!! shame the land lord didnt realise that hashers like a drink no proper beer^^.

It was while we were all changed ready for some drinkies ,when the red faced , rageing bull like “Shitfor” apeared to the rapturous applause of the hash. It took “Desperates “ kinder side of her nature to calm him down,” with let me buy you a drink then” and kind loving words from Twanky did the trick!!

Well done the hares especially “Tequilova” for supplying the cute little badges and flags ,but mainly laying most of this wonderful trail!!! ON ON OUT!!!
